Product Description of Molecular Sieve Desiccant

Molecular sieves are used in sealed insulating glass units to prevent fogging. In sealed double pane windows, condensation of water and solvent vapors can fog up the interior surfaces of the glass. Window fogging occurs when steam trapped between the two panes of an insulating glass unit condenses on the glass surface. This is because the temperature of the glass surface is lower than the dew point of the air between the two panes.

 

To prevent fogging, the moisture concentration in the double pane window must be controlled. Using this desiccant molecular sieve for insulating glass can absorb moisture better than all commercially available adsorbents, and sometimes they can also remove solvent vapors. When the molecular sieve absorbs moisture or solvent vapor, the moisture vapor concentration in the air space decreases, and the moisture dew point of the empty droplets decreases to a lower value, and condensation cannot occur until the glass temperature is below this value.
